Onset of visual disability (Stargardt Disease), 1958; lack of accommodation in Kansas public schools; enrollment in the University of Kansas and rudimentary assistance from the Department of Rehabilitation, 1971-74; antiwar activism; discrimination in employment; Blind Services Director and Deputy Director of the Center for Independent Living, 1980-84; work with the World Institute on Disability, 1984-1987; Pleasant Hill Independent Learning Center, 1987; Director of Berkeley Outreach Recreation Program; Rose Resnick Lighthouse for the Blind; reflections on Judith Heumann and Greg Sanders.
